Paul & Joe for Target
Paul & Joe for Target’s GO International campaign officially debuted in Target stores yesterday although they were available online since last week. For those in Los Angeles, there’s also a pop-up store located in Melrose Place and La Cienega that carries the whole collection.
I was a bit disappointed with the previous GO International collections from Luella Bartley and Tara Jarmon so I restrained myself from posting about the Paul & Joe line until I had a chance to check out the merchandise in person. And so I did yesterday. I haven’t seen the whole collection but my overall impression is that the Paul & Joe line fits better than the previous lines. This may be attributed to the design, I think. The clothing still runs small but is cut more realistically than the Tara Jarmon line. I’m not keen on her silk and lace pieces though, but that’s just me.
I particularly liked this poppy print top with bib pintucking and puff sleeves.

I didn’t notice it online and it looks much better in person. The whimsical black and ivory print gives a vintage vibe. The puff sleeves are subtle and fall longer on the arm. The pintucking gives a flattering shape. The material is a bit on the flimsy side but is not noticeable as it works well with the print and colors. The tiny cream buttons have Paul & Joe (and not Target) imprinted on them. I’m going to wear this top with my black trouser style shorts or with slim black pants and a red patent belt. Right now I’m wearing it with black bermuda shorts and black patent wedges. There is also a plain ivory version of this top but I stayed away from it as the material is a bit sheer and it just looks ordinary.
I also picked up this black jersey polo with puff sleeves, peter pan collar and banded bottom. It’s a cute basic at a great price.
I’ll be checking out the button front sleeveless henley and kimono dress as well. I heard mixed reviews about the kimono dress so if you’ve seen it in person, let me know what you think!

i was fixing to order that dress on both black and blue this morning, but i wasn’t sure on the size. to cover everyting, i think i’m going to order both a M and L just to be on the safe side. and just return the ones that don’t fit! i don’t think the kimono dress is in the stores yet!

i like it! material is like a tshirt fabric but i don’t find it too thick. the sleeves might be too big if you get a big size. when i tried the M was too long and the sleeves were too “butterfly-y” for me (if there’s such a term). check it out, the XS might still be big on you!
