YSL Double – Next “It” Bag?

If there’s anything that elevates a designer bag to “it” status, it’s when Hollywood’s young and fashionable set start toting it and magazines deem it as “hot”. Behold the YSL Double, bag du jour?

The bag is called “Double” as it is a fully reversible bag with a metallic color on one side and a basic white, black or brown leather on the other side. Two looks in one, how ingenious!

Fashion Week Daily reports:

Made of smooth Indian leather from Madras, known as Mercurio, the skin is tanned with chrome and then coated with a metallic leaf to achieve the anthracite or bronzed effect.

Athracite reverses to white

Brown reverses to bronze

Not pictured is the black and anthracite combination which is just as divine. The YSL Double comes in two sizes, small and large, and are priced at $995 and $1195 respectively. They are carried at YSL boutiques and are available for preorder at LuisaViaRoma.com. Yes, they are sold out at the YSL boutiques right now but a quick call to their Beverly Hills store yesterday revealed that they will have a “huge shipment” next week.

thanks for your opinions everybody! now for mine: i prefer the muse or the rive gauche zip tote over this one. also, i don\’t believe in scrambling to be the first on the block to have it. which is why i posed to question because sometimes, desire can be manufactured when you say \”it\” bag. i\’m glad to know that shopdiary readers are not lemmings!
