Mike & Chris Sample Sale
T’is the season for sample sales galore. I’ve wisely stayed away from them for now. Not that I couldn’t be bothered to go. Mind you, I’m not a snob like that. But I’ve found that most of the items that I’ve bought at sample sales are still sitting in my closet, unworn.
I’ve done well at Mike & Chris though. I’ve been wearing the hoodies that I bought at their last sample sale a LOT! They are having another sample sale this week, presumably of their fall collection now that their holiday line is out.
Some highly covetable pieces are this luscious chocolate brown leather jacket…

TIP: The leather jackets sell out on the first day so if you absolutely must have one, go on Thursday morning when the doors open.

I love the silhouette of this Bailey hoodie. It’s casual and chic at the same time. It’ll also be perfect to cover up any extra weight gained this holiday season. 
Hot, young and stylish celebs like Rachel Bilson have been seen out and about wearing this cropped leather jacket called the Lloyd bolero. ShoppingNerd posted a photo of Rachel here. This jacket too cute for words and perfect for chilly mornings.

I just blogged the Lloyd bolero. I love it. I’m sending my mom to this sample sale nice and early Thursday. I caved early and bought the Jesse when it came out…but maybe she can grab one in black

daily – geez! i’ve been swamped at work and at home and had no time to blog. i’m not sure about md tinted moisturizer. the medium was too dark for me while the light was too light. i think i’ll try revolution face by duwop next!

jeans, i don’t think the bailey and and lloyd will be on this sale. i forgot what the prices are from the last sale. i think they were 50 – 70% off retail.

my mom called. they didn’t have the jesse but they had other styles of the leather jacket. she got me a black maxwell and i think a dylan? she didn’t know the style name. apparently they started letting people in way before 10, like before 9:30 even. she was there, luckily. i’ll post pics of what i got in a few days when i go home.

I bought a ton of stuff from the sale and one of the items was the indigo leather maxwell jacket, so beautiful…but i think it is too small on me ;( I will have find a new home for it, anyone know of one please let me know.

I didn’t buy anything at this last sale, but I did pick up a lot at the one prior, including a leather jacket which was so much cheaper than $450. Can’t wait until the next sample sale. =)

It is so nice to find people as obsessed with clothes/fashion as myself. I am dying for a M&C black lether hoodie – either a Jesse or Maxwell. I just think that the ones from past seasons are so much cuter than the new stuff that has come out. My question is should I can only find the Maxwell & I am wondering if I should just pay full price for it now or if I should wait for the next sample sale. I remember reading somewhere that at the last sample sale there were no black leather jackets. Does anyone know if that is true? I think the Maxwell is $875 & by the posts it looks like I could probably get it for half that if it is at the sample sale. Thoughts? Also, any suggestions as to where I could find either jacket in a small would be much appreciated!

Oops I messed up on my post. Meant to say I could only find a Maxwell in black in a small. Also, I am so jealous of shoppingnerd for the fabulous finds her mom bought her at the sample sale. What great deals! Again, I still like the leather styles everyone was wearing in Fall ‘06.

hi laura, please go to the search box at the top of this page. do a search for “mike & chris” and read the comments. there have been several readers who posted leather hoodies for sale. and yes, you can find them at the sample sale but styles and sizes are not guaranteed. plus you have to be there 30 minutes before the doors open on the first day of sale as the leather jackets are gone 5 minutes after the doors open.

Thanks for your response shopdiary! I saw that some of your readers were selling their jackets but thought they were probably all gone. I also am just hesitant to buy something I haven’t seen unless it is from an online store. I would rather pay twice as much for something in perfect condition than pay half as much for something with a defect that is going to bug me & the Mike & Chris leather is so soft. For anyone interested the only online store with a Jesse that I found is blondette.com & they only have a large. They have some coupon code floating around so check on those before you purchase. I e-mailed them & they said Mike & Chris isn’t making the Jesse anymore. She said they were getting a new leather 3/4 sleeve hoodie in February (I am hoping it is as fabulous as the Lloyd, I bought the Bernard last summer which is a cute addition to my wardrobe but definetly not as great as the Lloyd) & additional jackets in March. I guess I am stuck deciding between the Donovan & the Maxwell. I have tried on the Donavan & it is super cut but just not that special. The Mawell, like the Jesse, has the great detailing so even though it was seen so much in Fall 2006 I will probably shell out the $800 plus for it. Hopefully I can make the next sample sale & get some great fleece & a colored leather jacket. However, it seems that you can find a lot of the items on sale somewhere for the same price but I still love a bargain so I will check it out. I bought the Duncan pull over fleece in plum frog last month & wore it for the first time today with a long sleeve shirt underneath. I swear I got at least a dozen compliments & half the people knew it was Mike & Chris. So I guess the $200 I spent on it was worth it. Too bad I didn’t wait with all the online coupon codes I could have saved some cash but it was one of those I love it so I had to have it. I saw the Bailey on sale at tobi.com & really wanted to get it but I usually wear an xs in the fleece which they didn’t have in stock. Anyway, I love your site & will stay tuned for when you will so nicely share with the rest of us when the next sample sale is going to be.
