Prada Phone
Hot on the heels of the release of the D&G Razr phone, now comes news that Prada has teamed up with mobile phone company LG to produce this sleek black phone.

Dial-a-Phone reports that it is a rebranded LG KE850 with a unique Prada interface:
The phone is unique in the fact that it does not have a keypad, sporting instead a touch screen display, but unlike the touch display on the LG Chocolate, which was just a couple of fixed buttons that lit up, the Prada display will change according to the application on the screen. It has a classic minimalist design, featuring an utterly stylish white on black user interface and will come in a swanky Prada designed leather case.

The phone will reportedly be released in Italy, the UK, France and Germany (plus one more country) in late March or early April 2007 and then distributed in Asia soon thereafter. No word on pricing or when it will hit the U.S.
I think this phone is classy and sleek and is so very Prada. Then I realized that it looks a bit like my first generation Palm Pilot from ten years ago but with the name Prada stamped on it. This is not a bad thing but that kind of thought will probably stop me from forking over $500 or more for this phone. Plus I would be worried about getting my fingerprints on the touch screen so I wouldn’t use the phone at all. Or I would be wiping it down constantly. And I’m not OCD. But still, the phone appears impressive.
What do you think?

Looks cool, though I’d probably be constantly wiping it down…
Hope you had a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year!!!

[...] When I sighed about the Prada phone’s touch screen not having a keypad at all I didn’t know that this would be the wave of the future for mobile phones. But when Apple announced and introduced the iPhone three days ago, I became convinced of this nifty feature. The iPhone is revolutionary with lots of useful features. And yay, the US gets first dibs with this phone as it launches Stateside in June, Europe in the fourth quarter and Asia in 2008. Prada phone? Sorry, the iPhone is now the apple of my eye. Haha. And since I’m knee deep with work right now, go read more about it at Engadget and see more pictures here. [...]
