Rachel Pally Sample Sale

I took off from work yesterday to go to the Rachel Pally Sample Sale. Woo hoo! Yes, I did. I didn’t attend the last sample sale so I made sure to attend this one. I decided that if I couldn’t make it to the first day of the sale as soon as it opened, then I would not go at all. That way you get first dibs, plus it’s more organized in the morning when things haven’t been picked over yet. I was right. When I arrived at the warehouse at 10 AM, the doors were already open and there were about 20 girls ahead of me. By the time I left almost three hours later, the place was a frenzied mess. It would have been difficult to find anything in that state.
The sample sale had moved to Los Angeles from the suburbs last December and it was my first time there. This venue is five times larger and accomodates more stock. It was very organized. Items were arranged by type – dresses, tops, skirts, pants, accessories – and season. Each style hung on the wall with style names and prices. Clothing hung from racks or were wrapped in plastic in marked bins. I was thrown off a bit because, for some reason, I thought the sale included the spring collection. I already had my picks mapped out. So it took me awhile to pick out stuff before trying them on. I also went back around the bins twice to make sure I didn’t miss anything. And I’m so glad I did or I would have missed out on most of the things I eventually purchased.
Here’s my loot from the Rachel Pally sample sale (pictured above):
- V Neck Pocket Dress
in Seafoam
$203$50 - Gather Front Dress in Black $60
- Caftan Top
in Rust
$185$75 - Rachel Pally Twist Tank
in Banana
$106$35 - Prairie Dress in Charcoal $45
I also liked the scoop neck bubble dress and the short tube dress but the ones I found were the long styles. Other picks were a black turtleneck babydoll dress ($45) and a chocolate brown puff sleeve babydoll dress ($70) but I realized that I already had the same items in my closet.
BTW, everyone was so polite and friendly! Even in the chaos of the dressing room, people took their turns at the mirror. When I asked others about where they got what they tried on, more than one girl figured out my size and attempted to pick them from the bin for me! They even insisted I was an extra small. Many thanks to the group of girls who helped me pick out my prairie dress from their stash of rejects. What a fun bunch! It made the 30 minute line to the cash register worth it. And girls in L.A., if you haven’t gone to the sale yet, the lines for check or cash payments are faster than those for credit card. The sale is still on tomorrow from 11AM through 4PM. More info here.
Next week, it’s the Billion Dollar Babes Exclusive DVF Sale baby!
