Chanel Paris-Biarritz
Look what I got in the mail last week:

A brochure of Chanel’s Paris-Biarritz line. The four panel brochure features the gorgeous limited edition alligator bags that has serious handbag mavens in excited anticipation. There’s also a vellum enveloped glued to an inner flap with four postcards of canvas bags from the collection. Prices are included. I’m posting them for anyone interested. More after the jump.

“For Spring-Summer 2007, Chanel has come up with a line of bags and accessories which is urban, easy to wear, adapted to our lifestyle and decidedly a sign of the times. Its name: “Paris-Biarritz.” Biarritz represented a particular attraction for Gabrielle Chanel. As early as 1915, she opened in this very trendy city a boutique, housed in a villa – an unheard of location at the time. Since then, the city has been a point of reference for the Chanel house. A nod to this era and to Mademoiselle Chanel’s vibrant lifestyle, the new line of bags “Paris-Biarritz” was conceived to keep up with the rhythm of a modern and active woman. To embody it, Karl Lagerfeld chose to photograph in the streets of Paris the actress Diane Kruger, the quintessence of chic and youth.”

These bags are so huge right now, but I don’t really like them. They look cheap to me. Even the alligator ones don’t have me going wow…

i agree. as bagsnob said, the canvas bags look like camera bags. i just posted them here for anyone interested though so i didn’t voice my opinion about them.

Thanks for posting the prices! I’m not really feeling these bags either…Even though Chanel tends to be more expensive, these bags are only CANVAS..yet the cheapest is still $995 USD. I think I’d rather go for Vuitton’s epi leather bags or monogram vernis. It’s leather, yet it’s still cheaper and just as timeless.

i think the tote and shopping bag are both adorable. when i read that it was a canvas bag i was psyched until i saw that the description includes goat leather because i don’t wear leather. anyone know of any really cute bags not made of leather?

^ Have you seen this? prada still carries non-leather bags. not sure if you’ll find one that you like though.
