It’s K Day!
The Kate Moss for Topshop collection has just launched tonight in London and online at topshop.com. Kate herself appeared briefly at the Oxford Street store window and posed with the mannequins. Kudos to Topshop for a well organized launch and for limiting purchases. As stated on topshop.com:
Due to considerable demand for this collection, and to be fair to all our customers, you will only be able to buy 1 of each style and can buy no more than 5 items at a time. So choose wisely!
To discourage the purchase of this collection for resale and/or commercial purposes, we will also be restricting any orders to have characteristics of reselling/reshipping.

Hurray! That hasn’t stopped resellers from posting on eBay though we are seeing it on a lesser scale compared to other previous designer/celeb-high street collaborations.
So has anyone tried to order online? I wasn’t keen on getting anything from the collection and by the time I remembered at past 10 PM PST that it had launched tonight, I decided that I wanted the red skinny jeans which I didn’t notice before. Converting sizes and prices took some figuring out. Then I lost my online connection. When I got back online, I developed a liking for the pansy dress (I know, I’m slow to catch on like that), but it was already sold out. And when I tried to check out the red jeans, I kept on getting an error message regarding my contact number. Needless to say, I didn’t order anything. I’ll just wait for the Stateside launch at Barney’s New York next week when I can try them on myself.

thanks, nicole. the article is very spot on. i know i myself got into the frenzy with trying order online but thankfully, i haven’t gotten anything. the red skinny jeans are still available and there was more than one occasion where i was ready to finalize my order, only to decide not continue with it as common sense took over. still, being the fashion blogger that i am, i will be going to BNY on may 9 to report back to you all!
