Retro Pan Am Travel Bags
How cool are these retro Pan Am flight bags? Pan Am was a cultural icon of the 20th century and these bags symbolize those days of luxury in airline travel that are now all but a distant memory. Replicating Pan Am originals, this new collection of travel bags are made of durable PVC in four styles ranging in price from $52 to $84. They are available online at Unica Home and in stores like Fred Segal Hats in Santa Monica. While the bags are worthy of mention on their own, those into fashion may be surprised to know that a big name designer carries limited edition Pan Am bags with his signature affixed on the other side of the logo. Can you guess who it is?

Surprise! The designer is Marc Jacobs. These bags are sold only at the Marc by Marc Jacobs boutiques in New York and Savannah, Georgia. As expected, they are already sold out. But fret not, the L.A. boutique will be getting them by the end of May. Another surprise is the price. It sold for $58 three weeks ago in New York. It now sells for $64, still cheaper than the regular Pan Am bags. The MJ bags come in one style (pictured below) and in three colors: vintage white, light blue and dark blue. I’d like one in vintage white please!

I personally like the white one too but the logo is not appealing as the blue.. I’ll get the blue hehe

I just called the Marc by Marc Jacobs store here in LA and they haven’t received the bags yet. When I asked when they would be available she said that it would be soon…and she said they’re not taking any orders for them. I wonder if it was Demi and Bruce’s daughter who picked up the phone?
FYI - These are already on ebay!

^ Yes, I did the same. They will be in the store by the end of May. I will call by the 21st to be sure though. And yes, I have seen them on eBay and they are selling for a little over MJ prices.

I just came across these fabulous purses on ebay…are they still available in the MJ store in LA? I heard they were at the MJ in LV at the forum shops. I used to be a PAN AM Flight Attendant.

I have a blue one, and everywhere i go people are asking about it. The Marc boutique in Vegas has two styles. I purchased one the first week in September. I love it!

uuuuuhhhhhh…as in not happy…..I saw a pile of them…original ones…. in great shape a couple of years ago in this piece of you know what second hand store here in a not so Glamorous section of Miami and thought Oh thats so Cool I should buy at least one…I DIDNT….when I went back 2 days later they were all gone…..I was talking to an ex Braniff Stewardess…yes she said I could call her that…also about 2 years ago and asked her if she still had her PUCCI designed Uniform…YES all of them including Suitcases? and NO she is not selling them until the Price goes WAY HIGHER…smart you know what…
