Fast Fashion Face Off: Forever 21 vs Zara
May 24th, 2007 Posted in Fast Fashion

It’s not surprising when fast fashion chains copy from designer labels. But to poach off each other? Looks like Zara fired the first salvo against Forever 21 with these yellow tunics. The pictures above don’t look like much but believe me, I’ve seen both items in person and the fabrics must have been taken from the same bolt of cloth. They are the same exact color (not seen in the photo due to difference in lighting) and flimsy cotton. The cut and fit are the same as are the crochet trimmed armholes. The only difference is the beading which is probably why Zara is charging $39.99 while Forever 21 priced theirs at $24.80 two months ago.
Can you guess which is which?

I once had that expirience some time agao with a hoodie.
C&A and Zara had exactly the same striped sweater on their racks. Sometimes they are just not sorting out well, cause they all work with the INDITEX Group.

I like the Zara brand but in this case, I prefer Forever 21… the beading looks classier, at least from the pictures… If I want a more Bohemian look — a sunny Boho-chic edge, that is, (how strange that sounds somehow!) — I’d go for the multi-colored beads…
