Update on the Anya Hindmarch “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” Bag

If you registed on anyahindmarch.com, you’ve probably received an e-mail from them regarding online pre-orders. Unfortunately for those who have been waiting for this, online pre-orders won’t happen. But fortunately for those who have joined their mailing list before May 30, Anya Hindmarch will randomly select a small proportion of customers and give them the opportunity to buy one I’m Not A Plastic Bag. Notifications will be sent on June 20 to coincide with the launch in the US. Once a person is selected they will receive a unique URL via which they can purchase their bag. This code is non-transferable and will only work in conjunction with the selected email address. Only 1 bag can be purchased per selected customer and bag colour can not be specified. If the bag is not purchased within 7 days the opportunity to buy will be re-allocated.
The U.S. launch will feature a cream bag with blue lettering and will be available on July 20 at all US Anya Hindmarch stores, Ron Herman, Fred Segal Flair, Post 26. Purchases will be limited to two bags per customer. The bag will also be available from Holt Renfrew in Canada for $18 (Canadian dollars). A limited quantity of blue US I’m Not A Plastic Bag will also be available from Dover Street Market and The Design Museum in London and Colette in Paris. From July 18 the bag will be available at selected East Coast Whole Foods Market stores. Check store listings and addresses here.
In Japan a cream bag with green lettering will be launched on July 14th. These bags will also be available through Anya Hindmarch stores in Japan, Isetan and Dover Street Market Tokyo.
In South East Asia, a cream bag with grey lettering will be launched in July through Anya Hindmarch stores in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Beijing. It will also be available through On Pedder stores in Jakarta, Bangkok and Shanghai.
In Europe, Brown Thomas in Ireland and Corso Como in Milan will also be stocking the brown version of the bag in July.
