Beauty Review: Clarins Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF30

June 1st, 2007 Posted in Beauty

I’ve always been careful about exposure to the sun but not very good about putting on sunscreen, much less around my eyes. So it was with great excitement when I discovered Clarins Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care with SPF 30. It’s the first serious sun protector developed especially for the delicate, wrinkle-prone eye area. It has an ultra-light, super-smooth, non-oily texture that glides over the skin and sits perfectly under make-up. There is a white cast from the titanium dioxide upon application but it disappears once it sinks into your skin. I don’t get millia or little bumps near my eyes as I have with some eye creams. Clarins is formulated with a revolutionary plant-based complex that helps prevents lines and wrinkles and stops photoaging in its tracks. 100 percent mineral filters provide triple, protection against hazardous UVA/UVB and infrared rays. Best of all, it’s very gentle. It doesn’t sting my eyes! A 20 ml tube lasts a long way and for $27, that’s a good buy. What can I say? I highly recommend this for everyday use, especially during the hot summer season.

I got this, too, because of your recommendation. And, I am loving it, so far. I also got the UV plus Protective Day Screen. And I like it too. Doesn’t make me break out.

that’s good to know! how do you compare the Day Screen to Skinceuticals (isn’t this the one you were using before that?)?

btw shelly, have you heard of any eye creams that can remove millia? i used some eye cream last year and i’m dismayed to see that tiny millia had formed on my left eye. i’m upset because i never had this before! good thing it’s barely noticeable.

ooh, i may have to try this out! do you find that you need to re-apply through the day? does it work well under makeup?

    4. shopdiary Says:

^TDO, i’m not good about reapplying. :-) but yes, it does work well under makeup. there’s a GWP with Clarins/Nordstrom until 6/11. i’m going to take advantage of this offer.

I found this article about the removal of millia. Hope this helps. http://www.dermadoctor.com/pages/newsletter56.asp?AID=5133

shopdiary, i find the dayscreen works a lot better now that it’s warmer. i put laura mercier oil-free tinted moisturizer with spf on top of it, and since the clarins dayscreen is oil-free as well, it doesn’t make me look so shiny. the skinceuticals is moisturizing so it works better for fall/winter.
i don’t know of any creams that can rid of millia. i’ve only had my millia removed by the derm.
