Anya Plastic Tote Sold Out

June 20th, 2007 Posted in Handbags

Today is the U.S. launch of the Anya Hindmarch “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” totes. I drove by the Robertson Blvd store to see what the turnout was like. This was the line at 11:45 AM. The store opened at 11 AM. It’s located somewhere near the third tree in the picture below, I think. There were actually more people in line under the shade of the gas station to the right of this photo (not pictured).

I passed by again at 3PM. The line was gone. Of course, by then, the bags were already sold out.

The people you see by the entrance just arrived
I’m glad I already got mine. I can’t imagine standing in line for even an hour nor paying $480 for it. It was scorching hot! Did you get yours or are you sooo over the hype?

I dont really understand what all the hype is about. It’s definitely great to have an alternative to plastic bags, but I’ve seen cloth shopping bags at the Fresh Market for less than $20.

Then again, I’m not really a purse person, I’m more of a clothes person, so I could see how if someone were big into totes, they’d want this to be in their collection.
