Louboutin’s Colorful and Rhyming Autographs

October 31st, 2007 | 2 Comments | Posted in Shoes

Take a look at the what Christian Louboutin wrote on my Flickr friend Michelle’s red soled shoes. It reads “To Michelle La Belle. C Louboutin”. Another friend’s shoe was signed “Hola Carolina”. Others didn’t rhyme but still, the colorful autographs alone are more than enough reward for those who waited in line for two hours or more and dropped between $600-$1000 on a pair of Louboutins. Oooh, la la!

Swarovski 2007 Annual Edition Ornament

October 31st, 2007 | 1 Comment | Posted in Miscellaneous

The champagne in your crystal-stemmed glass isn’t the only thing to sparkle this holiday season. Each year Swarovski designs a new eye-catching crystal ornament. For 2007, the Annual Edition ornament has elegant, detailed facets that replicates the Swarovski star that will sit atop the Rockefeller Center holiday tree when it arrives tomorrow, November 1st. It is beautiful! Swarovski will donate $250,000 from sales of this ornament to the Starlight Stabright Children’s Foundation, a national, non-profit, charitable organization that is dedicated to making a world of difference for seriously ill children and their families. So when you purchase it to light up your home, it also lights up the lives of children all over the country. Available at Swarovski retail stores worldwide and www.swarovski.com for $70.

Pink Beauty Buy: Origins ‘Make A Difference’ Rejuvenating Hand Treatment

October 29th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Beauty, Breast Cancer Awareness

When lived in Chicago many years ago, I developed severely dry, chapped hands during one harsh winter. Fortunately, I discovered Origins ‘Make A Difference’ Rejuvenating Hand Treatmenticon and regained soft, silky hands in no time at all. Now that I live in Los Angeles and although the weather isn’t as harsh, I still use this cream on my hands, elbows and, guess what, feet in the winter. It does a great job of keeping my skin evenly toned and more youthful looking. So it’s great to know that throughout October, Origins will donate a portion of the proceeds from every Make A Difference Rejuvenating hand treatment sold in North America in support of their $35,000 donation to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Pampering yourself and making a difference never felt better!

Runway Inspiration for Halloween Costumes

October 28th, 2007 | 1 Comment | Posted in Fashion

Don’t have anything to wear for Halloween yet? Well, why not look to the Spring 2008 catwalk shows for inspiration? Some may be harder to pull off than the others but you can be sure to be a standout in a crowd.

Gareth Pugh: (left) Wrap a square box with black jersey. Put box on head. Wear a shiny black dress and a pair of boots. Tie black fabric strips on both arms. Paint your fingernails black. Margiela: (right) Wear a black long sleeved top. Seriously shred a pair of black pants or jeans. Don’t hold back. Go wild with it. Paint your toenails black and wear open toed heels. Glue or stick a silver star on a two inch band of black satin and wear over your eyes. Bonus points for creating triangular shoulder pads. Long, shiny black hair is optional.

Louis Vuitton: (left) Wear a white lab coat, white belt, white stockings, white heels, and a Louis Vuitton monogram bag. Buy or make a white nurse’s cap. Get a red Sharpie pen and put your initial on it or any letter in the word “Louis Vuitton”. Wear black lace over your nose and mouth. Paint your fingernails red. Marc Jacobs: (right) Cut an old red dress at the side from hemline to waistline. Unbutton dress top. Wear black see thru undearwear. Tease your hair into a bird’s nest. Use Aquanet for best results. Plop a black ornament on your head. Wear black elbow length gloves, a red clutch and red pumps. Bonus points for breaking your shoe heels and glueing them back so they look like this.

Comme des Garçons: (left) Release your inner clown by wearing anything bright like yellow, hot pink or purple. Paint your face white and accent with yellow and hot pink cheeks, lips and eyes. Gather unkempt hair and knot the ends under your chin. Bonus points for wearing yellow fishnet socks and hot pink strappy platforms. Balenciaga: (right) Wear a silver top and a pair of silver pants with black open toed boots. Slick back your hair into a sleek bun. Keep your face pale and wear a blank expression.

Shopbop Coupon Code: 20% Off All Non-Sale Handbags with Code ARMCANDY

October 26th, 2007 | 1 Comment | Posted in Coupons, Handbags

It’s been awhile since I splurged on a handbag but it looks like my self control is being tested with Shopbop’s 20% off discount on non-sale handbags. Who doesn’t love a deal like this? The problem now is, what to choose? Here are a few picks:

Anya Hindmarch Lautner Naplak Suede Shoulder Bag, also in bronze trim.

Martine Sitbon is back! And this pebbled bucket bag looks stylish and functional.

I probably won’t get much mileage from this Zac Posen Antonia handbag but I imagine wearing it when I want to look classically elegant, just like the bag.

Ah! Decisions, decisions.

Aren’t you itching to get a bag too? Go find your own favorites from Marc Jacobs Stam bags to Foley + Corinna City bags, and labels like Gustto, Kale, Kooba, Goldenbleu and L.A.M.B. among others. Use code ARMCANDY to get the discount from now until October 31, 2007.

And don’t forget, tax isn’t charged for non-Wisconsin residents + free ground shipping in the U.S. mainland.
