Lucky Shops + Shop-A-Thon Ticket Giveaway
If there’s a perfect time for a weekend girls’ getaway to the Big Apple, next Friday and Saturday would be it because that’s when the fourth annual Lucky Shops shopping event will be held. The event features a wide range of top designers and shops with current and off-season items at up to 70% off retail. While there, enjoy complimentary cocktails, great music, sponsor giveaways and a gift bag (valued at $100+) packed with terrific products and samples. Admission to the Friday (Oct. 26) “First Dibs” showcase, noon-7 p.m., is US$75 in advance, $85 at the door. The Saturday (Oct. 27) “Shop-A-Thon,” 10 a.m.-7 p.m., is $40 in advance, $45 at the door. Lucky Shops will take place at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18 St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues in Manhattan. Tickets are available at LuckyShops.com or 1.866.4LUCKYU. The event benefits Baby Buggy, a nonprofit organization that helps families in need with baby clothes and gear.

I would like to bring my sister. She has a rough few years (beginning with losing her home in 9-11 etc. and a series of unfortunate events after that) and this would be nice for us both to have an evening of fun together. She is very optimistic and I don’t think many people could have put up with what she has put up with —and always with a smile on her face
