Love it or Hate it: Boots That Trick The Eye

If we thought that we could credit Marc Jacobs for perpetuating boots masquerading as another type of shoe, then we stand corrected. A quick look at the online sales page at Barneys revealed several other designers with their own incarnations (well, two of those pictured above are by Jacobs). Through a clever use of leather combined with patent or suede, these boots feature faux sandal, faux pumps or even faux pants detail. Quirky and fun. But are they for everyone?

      These all look weird to me. And I don’t understand the pants detail. How do you wear those? Do you put them over your jeans? Under? Wear a skirt with them? Whhhhyyyy????

      Hahaha I’m with Shelly–these confuse the hell out of me. It seems like those leather mary jane ones on the left would just give you giant cankles…
