New York F/W 08: Erin Fetherston Inspired by Juliet

February 1st, 2008 Posted in Fashion Week

Erin Fetherston says that her inspiration for fall is romantic heroine Juliet of the tragic Romeo and Juliet. “I wanted to do a modern Juliet with my collection,” the designer says in this video interview. Fetherston mentions looking at images of Patti Smith and Bob Dylan and notes the balance of masculine and feminine in her collection with fluid florals and structured jackets. Also seen were nightgown inspired pretty white cocktail dresses, floral prints that are photographic, dark hued opaque tights and long hair adorned with thin headbands and crowns of leaves.
