Seen on the Runway: Elbow Length Gloves

February 1st, 2008 Posted in Fashion Week, Trends

It’s still to early to predict trends seen on the runway in New York but a common item that I noticed from four shows yesterday are elbow length scrunched up leather gloves. They go very well with the slim knee length skirts, which looks to be another trend for Fall 2008. If you must have these gloves, now is the best time to buy them when they are on sale or on clearance. They might be hard to find though as all I’m seeing are satin (too wedding/opera/prom) and patent gloves (too working girl). What do you think of elbow length gloves?

Gloves aside – that dark lipstick scares me! (Maybe I’m just too ready for spring, not so much ready for fall fashion.)

Hey ShopDiary! :) Yes I love the elbow gloves. I wore them this past fall/winter (they were on Burberry’s Fall 07 runway). I think it’s a timeless piece that will always be appropriate for colder weather.

Yes, I think they are great. They’re like knee high boots – great when it’s cold!
