Still another designer collaboration to hit the stores this month, the Pierre Hardy designed shoes for Gap are now available online and in U.S. stores. Only three styles are available right now, including mary jane flats in black and tan, sandal flats in silver and tan, and three-strap platforms in dark brown and khaki. Too bad the gladiator style sandals aren’t available yet. And if Gap should learn anything about collaborating with designers, it’s that they should include the designers’ names on the products. I suppose the products should stand out on their own, as they should. But the reality is, people want it, if only to justify the higher than usual prices.
I’ve finally finished my project at work and I’m just starting to sift through my emails and blogroll. There are lots of good deals including this free shipping offer from Net-a-Porter. Just use code FREESHIP til March 17.

Christian Siriano wins!
Christian, aka Ferosha Coutura, had the strongest, most high fashion collection shown in the show’s finale. Initially, I thought he was nothing more than an annoying little twat but Christian certainly proved himself to be an astute designer as the season progressed. Plus he was very entertaining. He even won this season’s fan favorite. Let’s just hope this doesn’t all go to his head. Congrats, Christian! That’s fierce! And as guest judge Victoria Beckham said to Christian, “”Rather than fierce, I would say you are major.”
Read a post win interview with Christian here. And of course, watch this video where Tim Gunn and Christian do a runway walk off. Tim got red faced and in stitches at the end. Hilarious!

Here’s a video of Chanel’s RTW Fall 2008 runway show. Towards the end of the video, see the models sitting on huge versions of Chanel’s iconic accessories with each piece bobbing up and down just like it should on a carousel. Incidentally, here’s an interesting interview with Karl Lagerfeld. It’s worth the read, with lots of choice quotes from the legendary designer.
How cool are these embossed leather and satin goods from Yves Saint Laurent? Giving a nod to the nostalgic days of snail mail, the Y-Mail collection features the brand’s first official headquarters in Paris embossed in founder Yves Saint Laurent’s personal manuscript. An imprint of a French postage stamp and a YSL logo complete the look. Available in black, gold, silver and red (exclusive to Asia), prices range from $180 for a mirror case to $1,840 for a medium-sized tote. The collection was first released in Asia in January and will be launched in the U.S. this month. Colette Paris will also exclusively carry this limited edition pewter clutch (only 10 pieces made) that opens like an envelope and has Colette’s return address of 213 rue Saint-Honoré on the flap.
Chanel’s two tone legwear seen on the catwalk in Paris last week look pretty interesting. The nude color looks unassuming when seen from the front and the black half gives a slimming effect when seen from the side. I’m not too keen on the logo but then again, it’s what probably adds interest to what could have been ordinary nude hose.
I’m trying to jog my memory if I’ve seen logoed pantyhose before. I know I have, I just can’t remember when… Update: No, it’s not these ones from Louis Vuitton that I was thinking of.
