It’s My Birthday and I’ll Buy What I Want To
Hahaha. Don’t I sound so defensive? I know I’m going to get some flak for what I got myself for my birthday. (Yes, don’t wait for anybody to get what you want. Get it yourself!) But I know I will, especially from those in New York. Call me nuts but yes, I got myself a Goyard again. The brand isn’t as ubiquitous in Los Angeles as it is in New York. And I haven’t seen Goyard knock offs yet, so I’m still immune to being turned off with the brand.
I wanted something bright and cheery for spring, particularly a marine blue (royal blue) fidji hobo. And when I lock onto an idea, I can’t let go of it (that must be the Taurean in me). But Barneys didn’t have it. So I gravitated towards yellow and light blue. The colors look good against my Marimekko for H&M top, don’t they?

Sorry, but I still don’t like the St. Louis.

In the end, I chose a white fidji hobo. It will look great with colorful florals for spring. Here it is enjoying the sunny weather in a field of yellow flowers.

See what I meant when I said it would look great with colorful florals? (Actually, the photos I took of it indoors didn’t look good against my white walls.) I had second thoughts about keeping it but I’m glad I did. It’s so low maintenance that when I accidentally left blue pen marks on it the first day I wore it out, I just dipped a napkin in water and rubbed it all off. That happened with my Marc Jacobs multi-pocket bag a few years ago (also on the first day I wore it out, I must keep blue ink pens away from my bags!) and I had to take it back to the store and pretend it was there when I bought it.
Here are some quilted goodies from Christmas, by the way.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

SD ~ I AM DROOLING OVER HERE! I love the white Fidji…it’s a great change from the St. Louis everyone has over here in NYC! But I still want one…lol! Did you so happen to spot the pink collection as of yet?

Not going to give you flak for it but yes, knockoffs are rampant in New York. They sell faux Goyard on every street corner and it’s hard to tell the difference without a practiced eye:(

hi TBA - yes, la vie en rose is a baby pink shade. they only had it in a medium st. louis but then, i wasn’t too crazy about the shade, even though i like pink.
hi eye4style - do they have fake fidjis and croisieres as well?
