Kitson and Lisa Kline Sidewalk Sales

May 18th, 2008 Posted in Sales

I happened to be out and about on Robertson Blvd on Saturday when I chanced upon two separate sidewalk sales at Kitson and Lisa Kline.

The Kitson sale was held in a courtyard next to the new store across the street from the original location. It was a quiet event as shoppers trickled in and checked out the sale. Most of the items were priced at about 50% off: brown and silver gladiators were $78, L.A.M.B. Darrel Pumps $185, Milly jackets $180, Goldenbleu and Michael Kors patent bags went for almost $300. I wasn’t dazzled by any of the items or prices and my enthusiasm dampened when security came by and asked me to stop taking photos.

It was busier down the road at Lisa Kline, where a crowd gathered and for a moment, I thought that Lindsay Lohan or some other star was in the store. As I approached the crowd, I realized that a sale was in progress. Items on the racks were all $30 including a chevron Karta dress (fit was terrible), a Mint by Jodi Arnold embellished top and long Rachel Pally caftan dresses in chocolate brown. All originally retailed for $250-$400. All jeans were $75 (including brands like William Rast, People’s Revolution, Citizens of Humanity), some bins were 50% off. I was melting from the heat so I didn’t bother to rummage through the jeans. I bought the Rachel Pally caftan dress, which is way cheaper than the $85 sample sale price for one. I love it!
