Indentify It: Gossip Girl Serena’s Headband in Summer, Kind of Wonderful
I got this email almost two weeks ago:
Hi,
I recently saw on your website that you covered who wore what from the episode of Summer Kind of Wonderful of Gossip Girl. Could you please tell me where is the crystal or metal type of double headband that Serena was wearing on her hair while she had a stunning white dress. Please any type of help will be very much appreciated, the name of the shop or designer or where I could get one, since I am getting married and would like to use that on my hair.

At first, I thought the headpiece was the double pearl headwrap from Jennifer Behr’s bridal collection. But Ariana emailed Jennifer Behr and confirmed that it’s not the same. The double braided silk headband with crystals by Stacey Lapidus would be a good stand in but it’s still not exactly the same. Upon closer inspection of episode stills, I concluded that the headpiece was created by Gossip Girl stylists from silver metallic trim or ribbons wound around the head twice and tied at the nape. This one from Trim Fabric is quite similar, but still not the same.
What do you think? Can you help out a fellow Gossip Girl fan?

It could be a number of things having nothing to do at all with hair accessories. A belt, for instance, just wrapped around {off center} and pinned down. A necklace? Strands of ribbons {as you said} or beads?
In any case, the styling on the show is phenomenal.

i can’t remember which blog but i read somewhere that it was a necklace. they were reviewing that episode and talking about how serena’s goddess look was way over the top and then they made fun of her hair being so overdone
i also think that on fashionista when they were blogging one of the presentations during fashion week, i believe it was rachel roy, they said something along the lines that they spotted prada lace in person, wannabe prada lace in person, and then i think they said spotted necklace serena wore as a headband, it was worn by an magazine editor
