Is Gray Nail Polish Here to Stay?

November 16th, 2008 Posted in Beauty

We’ve seen gunmetal gray nail polish last fall and all throughout spring this year. As gray is a big color for clothing and accessories this fall, its ubiquitousness on nails may be here to stay - at least for this season. Gray is not a color that one would naturally gravitate to for nail color. There’s the danger of making your skin look ashen and lifeless, like a corpse. So it’s best to test the nail color first to make sure it won’t look flat on your skin. Gray also looks best with this fall’s other big colors, berry and purple, so pair them up with your clothing and accessories. As with black and dark blue nail polish, make sure your nails are short and chic when wearing gray nail polish. A few of my favorites, pictured above, from left to right: OPI “You Don’t Know Jacques”, OPI “My Private Jet”, Lippmann Collection “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” and YSL “Tuxedo Gray”.icon

Will you color your nails gray this fall?

Love that you posted about this because Gray is my go to nail color and has been ever since OPI had the India collection. I love it and hope it stays awhile! MBMJ is has some of their specialty stuff on sale like those nylon quilted totes and wallets, some winter stuff and shoes. Definitely check it out if you have time. I could have purchased one of everything.

Grey is my new fave! I can’t get enough. Sephora by OPI Run With It! is a good choice too, as is China Glaze Recycle. If you want more of a mauve-ish grey, OPI Tickle My France-y is the best.
