Pantone Names Mimosa as Color of the Year for 2009

December 3rd, 2008 Posted in Fashion News

Pantone, the world-renowned authority on color, has predicted that yellow will be the color of the year for 2009, specifically naming Pantone 14-0848 Mimosa as the top hue.

“I think it’s just the most wonderful symbolic color of the future,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “It’s invariably connected to warmth, sunshine and cheer — all the good things we’re in dire need of right now.”

In 2008, Pantone’s color of the year was Blue Iris.
