Express Fit and Flare Coat

Here’s another black coat that I bought back in November, right after shopping the Comme des Garcons for H&M launch. It was still too warm in L.A. to even consider buying a wool coat then but I had spied this coat about a month earlier at Express, of all places. As I’ve learned to wait for sales, I held off from buying it knowing the right time would come. Well it never did and I found my size missing from the racks weeks later when I thought to check it out again. So when I found my size at the store in Beverly Center, I bit the bullet and bought it at full price, which was reasonable for a wool blend coat to begin with.

I like the fitted sleeves, the hourglass silhouette and the broad scalloped collar that you could wear up or down. The details give a bit of flair to what would have been just another boring black coat. It’s the perfect complement to sweater dresses and knee high boots. Love it!
