Cosmetics Giveaway on January 20th
Ladies, mark your calendars! This is one beauty giveaway you shouldn’t miss.
I got a postcard in the mail recently about the settlement of a cosmetics class action lawsuit. As part of the settlement, $175 million worth of free cosmetics products will be distributed to class members at department stores listed below for a maximum of seven days, while supplies last, on a first come, first served basis, beginning on January 20, 2009. No rainchecks will be issued. Each class member will be entitled to a maximum of ONE free product.
The stores that will be participating are: Bergdorf Goodman, Bergner’s, Bloomingdale’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Dillard’s, Gottschalks, Herberger’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Parisian, Saks Fifth Avenue and Younkers.

I’m confused at how this will work. Do you have to show a receipt of a purchase you’ve made (and thereby qualifying you as a class member)? Or do you just walk up and say “hey, gimme gimme! I’m a class member!”

I understand that you don’t have to have a receipt, but that you do have to sign a paper saying that you purchased cosmetics from one of the defendents during this time. That’s it!
