Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2009

January 15th, 2009 Posted in Fashion

From WWD:

Marc Jacobs keeps a retro mood for Louis Vuitton’s pre-fall collection, inspired by a book about wartime fashions. Playing with a muted palette with shots of orange and fuchsia, he offers felt skirts paired with blouses and cardigans, platforms and socks, and a little black crepe dress with sculpted radzimir sleeves and lace panels. Costume jewelry also underscores the Forties feel, with a lily-of-the-valley brooch and a wooden chain necklace.

Love that hot pink dress, it looks like something Carrie Bradshaw would have worn. Ah, I miss seeing new Carrie outfits every week.!

So, with the economy crashing and MJ’s possible post fashion show party being canceled in February. Do you think that all of this pre fall pre spring pre holiday resort crap is going to come crashing down as quickly as it came up? Because seeing another meh collection from another overpriced designer just seems wrong at this point.

[I'm truly hoping that the end of the world brings at the very least better design, less crap, and more thoughtful pieces instead of just producing well...80s prom dresses and fake ralph lauren]
