Madewell for Shopbop

February 21st, 2009 Posted in Fab Shops, Fashion, Jeans

As far as fashion collaborations go, it’s usually between fashion designer and retail store (think Target and its gazillions of designer collabs), fashion house/designer and artist (Louis Vuitton/Marc Jacobs and Stephen Sprouse), fashion house/designer and high street brand (Lanvin/Alber Elbaz and Acne Jeans).

Here’s another variation of a fashion collaboration: a hook-up between retail stores. Shopbop, a huge online presence and Madewell, an under the radar brick and mortar sibling of J.Crew have teamed up to produce a limited edition, heritage-inspired denim collection called Madewell for shopbop (of course!).

What’s it like? Picture every favorite piece you’ve worn to shreds over the years and you start to get the idea: think spot-on skinnies and slouchy boyfriends, thigh-grazing minis and tailored jean jackets. Check out the Madewell LookBook for inspiration on how to wear it.

The 7-piece denim collection is available exclusively through shopbop.com and select Madewell boutiques and madewell1937.com.

I love that they are carrying Madewell stuff esp. since Chicago doesn’t have a Madewell store and they don’t do online. Hmph!
