Guess Who I Saw at Barneys NY Yesterday?

April 13th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Celebrities, Out and About

Why, it’s Nicole Richie. I was talking with the SA in Goyard about the paps outside and how I just saw Lindsay Lohan, who was waiting for the elevator I got out of, when Nicole walks over to us and asks to see an agenda or wallet from the glass case. She is pretty. She’s got nice skin too.

Too surreal, especially for me who never spots celebs unless they’re right in front of me.

Paris Hilton Knocks Off Louboutin and Gaetano Perrone for Té Casan

January 22nd, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Celebrities, Shoes, Splurge vs. Steal

I haven’t really paid much attention to the news that Paris Hilton will be debuting a shoe line in February. After all, the socialite and prolific businesswoman already has her name attached to fragrance, clubs, jeans and what-have-you. So shoes are probably a natural progression for her ever expanding empire.

But when Kat of Style Scoop posted a few styles from Paris’ shoe line today, two of the three shoes pictured caught my attention. They are almost identical replicas of designer shoes. One is the limited edition Diana by Gaetano Perrone for Té Casan that quickly sold out last fall. Paris was even pictured in a pair of those gorgeous satin heels herself (someone dig up this photo, please!). Her shoe line calls the satin-wrapped platform pumps style “Vogue” and are $94 at Kitson. Another style are red ribbon espadrilles from two years ago that author Julie K. Dam raved about in her blog. Here’s a pic of Julie in her Louboutins. They were originally $400 and went on clearance for a little over $100.

Anyhow, it looks like Paris is following in Jessica Simpson’s footsteps in more ways than just launching a line of footwear. :-)

Jennifer Connelly for Balenciaga S/S 08

January 6th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Ad Campaigns, Celebrities

Jennifer Connelly is a beautiful woman and the silhouettes of the dresses seen on the runway for Balenciaga’s Spring 2008 are amazing but we feel that this ad campaign was a major miss. The photos look straight out of an editorial for Instyle Magazine. Boring! They could have chosen a long legged model like Gisele Bundchen, who would have rocked those lace up boots that look ill fitting on Jennifer. Or Daria Werbowy who shot an editorial for British Vogue’s February 2008 issue. Big difference, no?

More photos from the Balenciaga Spring 2008 ad campaign are here.

Rachel Zoe Gets A Reality TV Show

January 4th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Celebrities, TV/DVD

Fashion Week Daily reports that celeb stylist Rachel Zoe is getting her own weekly one-hour reality show on Bravo TV. Shooting has started and will cover New York Fashion Week in February “where she will profile designers and “cover” the week’s worth of shows and parties.”

The show is slated to air in June or September. No word on whether Harvey Weinstein, who recently acquired fashion house Halston and enlisted Zoe to work on his advisory board, will be producing the show. Weinstein also co-produces Project Runway which is aired on Bravo. Hhhmm, could this reality show be part of Halston’s relaunch?

Love her or hate her, Rachel Zoe is definitely moving on to bigger and better things. There’s no stopping her! And given how Bravo can make even a cooking show interesting, I am sure this one will be a hit.

Emma Watson Goes Shopping in Kitson

July 10th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Celebrities

Emma Watson, who plays brainy Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, was out and about shopping in L.A. yesterday afternoon. Here she is in Kitson boutique smiling playfully for the cameras before filming a segment for Access Hollywood. She is wearing a Chanel cardigan set paired with Rich & Skinny jeans in Motley Blue. Emma has been a darling poster girl for all that we want to see in a young actress, wearing age appropriate and tasteful clothes. And we love it! Check out her movie premiere Chanel outfits at Sassybella.

{Forgive me for the back-to-back celebrity-centric posts here on ShopDiary. But the fifth Harry Potter movie premiers tomorrow and how could I not post about this with me being a huge Harry Potter fan and all? And next week: the last book in the series. I’ve already pre-ordered my book and have the weekend blocked off for some marathon reading!}

Isn’t She Lovely? Eva Longoria in Chanel

July 8th, 2007 | 5 Comments | Posted in Celebrities

Eva Longoria looks pretty as a picture on her way to her civil wedding ceremony in Paris. Her lithe figure carries her pink tweed mini-dress from Chanel’s Spring 2007 RTW collection very well. She paired her dress with a silver Laura Merkin “Eve” clutch and metallic Sergio Rossi platform slingbacks. Her sapphire and diamond necklace and earrings look a bit over the top though. Perhaps she wore them to match the short white dress that she reportedly changed into for the 45 minute ceremony?
