Isn’t She Lovely? Eva Longoria in Chanel

July 8th, 2007 | 5 Comments | Posted in Celebrities

Eva Longoria looks pretty as a picture on her way to her civil wedding ceremony in Paris. Her lithe figure carries her pink tweed mini-dress from Chanel’s Spring 2007 RTW collection very well. She paired her dress with a silver Laura Merkin “Eve” clutch and metallic Sergio Rossi platform slingbacks. Her sapphire and diamond necklace and earrings look a bit over the top though. Perhaps she wore them to match the short white dress that she reportedly changed into for the 45 minute ceremony?

Madonna Performs for Live Earth in Louboutins

July 7th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Celebrities, Shoes

I’ve been watching the Live Earth concerts all day and checking out the fashion on stage as well. Among the more impressive performers was Madonna in her studded Louboutin platform mary janes. Only a pro like her can dance and sing live like she has in those sky high heels which look very much like these Super Wallis platform pumps customised with silver studs. Watch Madonna perform “Hung Up” here and you’ll see what I mean. Quite sensibly, Madonna wore lower heeled dancing shoes for the three other songs that she performed.

More Live Earth performances here.

Take a look at the first images of Kate Winslet for Lancôme Trésor.

“More than an outstanding actress, Kate Winslet has the amazing ability to be celebrated as both an exceptional and an everyday woman,” explained Odile Roujol, Lancôme International’s General Manager. “A passionate person, who lives and feels life to the fullest, she is sure to act as the epitome of Trésor, our mythical fragrance.”

The campaign for the fragrance was shot on the Pont des Arts in Paris by fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh. Ads for the Trésor fragrance, featuring Winslet, will be published in print and broadcast on television in September.

Identify It: SJP’s Fuschia Bag

May 31st, 2007 | 7 Comments | Posted in Celebrities, Handbags

From our inbox, ShopDiary reader Michelle wants to know who made Sarah Jessica Parker’s gorgeous fuschia bag pictured above. Doesn’t SJP look pretty as a picture on a fine spring day? There’s something eye catching about the way she wore her yellow shoes and bright pink bag together. Yet here we are tearing our hair out and foregoing our lunch break because we can’t ID the bag. Initially, we thought of Nancy Gonzalez or even Alexandra Knight and her colorful collection of alligator and crocodile bags. But we couldn’t find the same design. Then Devi Kroell became a contender because of the structure of this bag but not the color. And no, we didn’t check but we’re sure it’s not from Bitten.

Help!

Kate Moss for Topshop Lands in the U.S.

May 9th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Celebrities, Fashion

The Kate Moss for Topshop SS07 collection debuted in several Barneys Coop stores across the U.S. today. I went to Barneys in Beverly Hills and arrived a few minutes past 10 AM. Unlike in New York, this Barneys had no lines outside. There were only about 20 people ahead of me and by the time I arrived, the pansy dresses were gone. I expected it to be crazy but it seemed oddly hushed and quiet despite the palpable excitement from those who were there. There were three racks of clothing. Denim pants and short were folded on a table. I was told by an SA that they will be stocking more in the coming weeks. Aside from the pansy dress, I spotted the following:

It’s K Day!

May 1st, 2007 | 3 Comments | Posted in Celebrities, Fab Shops

The Kate Moss for Topshop collection has just launched tonight in London and online at topshop.com. Kate herself appeared briefly at the Oxford Street store window and posed with the mannequins. Kudos to Topshop for a well organized launch and for limiting purchases. As stated on topshop.com:

Due to considerable demand for this collection, and to be fair to all our customers, you will only be able to buy 1 of each style and can buy no more than 5 items at a time. So choose wisely!

To discourage the purchase of this collection for resale and/or commercial purposes, we will also be restricting any orders to have characteristics of reselling/reshipping.

Enjoy this collection, but keep your eyes peeled for many more amazing pieces coming in every week!

Hurray! That hasn’t stopped resellers from posting on eBay though we are seeing it on a lesser scale compared to other previous designer/celeb-high street collaborations.

The countdown has begun and Barneys Coop is making sure that you won’t forget when the Kate Moss for Topshop collection hits the stores with huge banners and window displays and online with a countdown clock. Perhaps they should post a survival guide as well.

Are you looking forward to May 9?

Gwen’s Fabulous Shoes

April 4th, 2007 | 9 Comments | Posted in Celebrities, Shoes

Gwen Stefani is looking fabulous at her son’s recent baptism. As the occasion was a religious event, I think this is just about as conservative as Gwen is going to dress. Of course, being the stylish rocker that she is, she just had to kick it up a notch by wearing those sky high killer heels. I’ve seen them before but I’m a bit stumped right now where her shoes are from. Are they Gucci? Can someone ID them please?

Kate Moss for Topshop Lookbook

You’ve seen a few pictures of the Kate Moss for Topshop collection before. Now check out the whole collection here. I think this may be the most exciting celebrity-high street collaboration so far. Kate appears to have been very hands on during the planning process and has put her personal stamp on it. The collection will be in Topshop stores and online on “K Day“, or May 1st. Barney’s New York will have the collection available on May 8. Mark your calendars!

M by Madonna for H&M

March 26th, 2007 | 2 Comments | Posted in Celebrities, Fab Shops, H&M, Out and About

I stopped by H&M in Pasadena to check out the M by Madonna collection two days after it debuted. I wasn’t keen on anything specific from the line. I just wanted to report back on what I saw and observed. First off, the whole section of M by Madonna was well stocked. The photo above shows the sequined dresses that sold out in some stores. There are still a lot in this store and I didn’t see anybody pick them up while I was there. Almost every item from the collection was available except for the turbans, which completely sold out in this store. Another thing I observed was that people did not linger long in this section. People checked the goods then moved on. Catwalk Queen’s post echoes my observations and sentiments exactly.

What did I like? The clutches in silver or black were a nice surprise. They are cute for a night out on the town. It’s got a slinky hidden strap. It’s tiny though and will only fit a lipstick, a tiny compact and some dollar bills. I tried on the kimono dresses. They are OK but are cut so low in the front, I had to think hard as to when I could realistically wear them. The patent stacked heels are great. But as usual, they didn’t have my size.
