Storefronts: Robertson Boulevard

May 27th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Storefronts

Robertson Boulevard is fast losing its reputation as a quaint indie boutique shopping district with the imminent arrival of big guns like Chanel, Ralph Lauren and D&G. The trendy tree-lined street in West Hollywood is best known as a paparazzi magnet where young starlets are usually caught shopping and eating.

Will this homogenization bode well for this fashion row du jour? Kitson owner Fraser Ross told WWD, “The rents on Robertson are getting a little ridiculous and the street is getting a little more corporate, so it was time to aggressively expand elsewhere.” Kitson, one of the hippest shops on the street, is not moving but it’s definitely not putting all its eggs in one basket, so to speak.

Thank goodness those rumors of a Coach Legacy boutique did not come to fruition!

After the jump, storefront snaps of most of the shops on Robertson Boulevard.

Storefronts: The Americana at Brand

May 4th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Storefronts

I got a chance to check out The Americana at Brand in Glendale yesterday. The place is larger than The Grove and houses 75 stores including current Grove retailers like Barneys Co-op, Anthropologie, J. Crew, Kiehl’s, Michael Stars, XXI (Forever 21), Marciano, Barnes & Noble and new ones added to the mix like H&M, Kitson, Urban Outfitters, Custo Barcelona, BCBG Max Azria among others. In short, it’s a glorified mall that promises a different shopping experience.

Check out the complete list of shops here.

Storefronts: Chicago’s Gold Coast

September 20th, 2007 | 4 Comments | Posted in Storefronts

I am so behind with my blog posts! Here are some storefront photos from two weeks ago during a trip to Chicago (yes, I was there!). I didn’t have much time to go shopping but when I got the chance, I checked out the stores in Chicago’s Gold Coast, on Rush Street, like Intermix and Jake. Ah, too bad I didn’t get a chance to go to Ikram and I was just a block away!

Here are a few photos from that brief shopping jaunt:

Store Front: Chanel Boutique on Rodeo Drive

August 27th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Fab Shops, Storefronts

If you wish to use any of these photos, please credit ShopDiary.com. Thanks!
I was out and about in Los Angeles on Saturday and did a drive by on Rodeo Drive to take some facade photos of Chanel’s recently revamped flagship store in Beverly Hills. Too bad I didn’t have any time to go inside. I doubt they would allow photos inside anyway as the last time I was there, my SA would only allow photos after I bought this bag and by that time, I didn’t want to. :-)

More pictures after the jump.
