Gone So Soon! Sniff.

Ah, I was hoping to see more of you in the show but you were auf’d way before your time. Goodbye, Malan Breton from Taiwan. You will be missed.

Ah, I was hoping to see more of you in the show but you were auf’d way before your time. Goodbye, Malan Breton from Taiwan. You will be missed.
As I was leaving work this afternoon, I checked the fashion board that I frequent and found these photos. Apparently, an astute observer from televisionwithoutpity.com, another message board that I frequent for the snarky comments but never joined, noticed that the sketches that Keith Michael presented during auditions look startlingly similar to several Spring 2006 runway photos from several designers.
Keith’s “sketches” are on the left, runway photos on the right with the respective designer’s names below each photo:

…………….Keith Michael …………………….Giambattisa Valli

……………Keith Michael …………………………….Lacoste

…………….Keith Michael ……………………..MarniMarni
What a blatant rip off! Those “sketches” were clearly Photoshopped. Take note that Keith’s “sketches” were taken from videos posted on the Bravo website.
Looks like Nina Garcia was right when she said, “He might be a little tricky, this Keith Michael.” I can’t wait to see what unfolds with this story. There’s still a lot of talk in the boards and this news is spreading like wildfire. Keith himself responded to the issue by leaving a comment in Blogging Project Runway. He writes:
hey guys-
love your site and i read it often. so when i read the latest comments about me i thought it might be time to write in. for the record, i submitted 5 portfolios for the judges review. the one you seem to be focusing on was a research assignment i did for a client in which i reviewed key fashion trends. i’m very proud of all the work that i do. the panel of judges that reviewed my work had many years of experience behind them. i found them neither ignorant, uninformed or in any way confused about their own profession.
I’d hate to say this since I love Tim Gunn but he was the one who seemed impressed with Keith during auditions even though Elle’s Joann Pailey openly voiced her doubts about him. Tim said, “I see something in him“. Hmmm. I bet he did.
What do you think?

The design challenge for the first episode called “Wall to Wall Fashion” of Project Runway Season 3 was to use materials found in the contestants’ apartment - bedsheets, rugs, shower curtains, placemats, wall hangings, anything and everything - to, according to Heidi Klum, “create an outfit that expresses who you are as a designer”. Here are my favorites:

Robert Best
Fantastic! The dress is made of a duvet cover and a jeweled wall-hanging. Look at the back of the dress. It’s quite dramatic as you wouldn’t have guessed it looking from the front.

Alison Kelly
This ruched mini dress is made of bed sheets and a beaded curtain. Modern and cute!

Keith Michael
Made of bed sheets. Not very innovative but executed well.
OK, that wasn’t a very intelligent review but it’s way past midnight and I need my beauty rest! Good night!
It’s funny how, while watching Project Runway tonight, I kept on thinking, “This person looks like …”

Greg Kinnear on video or Jude Law in photos

Rene Russo

Ted Danson minus the goofy smile or Rick Moranis of Honey I Shrunk the Kids
Anyhow, here are my early faves:
I like them all actually, even Malan! Looks like another great season in store for us!
Project Runway Season Three premieres tonight.

Here’s a really early recap of the casting process, Road to the Runway, from A Socialite’s Life. And of course, don’t forget to tune in to Blogging Project Runway for the latest dish on everything Project Runway.
Set your TiVos/DVRs, if you haven’t already!

Bravo just released its official announcement regarding Project Runway’s Season 3.
On July 12 9 PM ET/PT Tim Gunn will host a one hour special on the casting process. The first episode of the actual show will air thereafter at 10 PM. There will be fifteen contestants.
Additionally, the four disc DVD set of “Project Runway - The Complete Second Season” is available in stores beginning June 27. Added bonuses include 13 extended episodes with never-before-seen footage as well as bloopers, outtakes, a “Wear Are They Now?” contestants update, and exclusive season 3 casting call footage.
Of course, we already know about the dates. What we didn’t know were the little details especially the Season 2 DVD extra footage, bloopers and outtakes. I loooved Season 2 so I’ll surely be getting the DVD set too!
Project Runway returns this summer for its third season and is reported to debut on July 12 just two weeks after the scheduled June 27 release of the show’s season two DVD. Wow! One of my favorite shows just got bumped up to two seasons per year. Previous seasons aired once a year, starting in December and concluding in early March. Most likely, season three finale hopefuls will show on Olympus Fashion Week in September. Squee! I hope this season’s cast will be just as interesting as the last.

Got my Lot 8 tank top! I ordered it on whim last week when I found out about Chloe Dao’s Project Runway Finale Collection Viewing Party. Since I couldn’t attend the party, I decided that having a tank top would do.
The screenprinted tees are made with American Apparel’s 2×1 Rib Boy Beater Tank. They come in white (with black print), black (with white print) , fuschia, and turquoise (both with brown print). They run small so I ordered one size up but they still fit a big snug. I recommend buying two sizes up since American Apparel says it will shrink the wash. I got a medium and it looked more like a small to me. Time to shape up for summer!
