Here’s a video of Chanel’s RTW Fall 2008 runway show. Towards the end of the video, see the models sitting on huge versions of Chanel’s iconic accessories with each piece bobbing up and down just like it should on a carousel. Incidentally, here’s an interesting interview with Karl Lagerfeld. It’s worth the read, with lots of choice quotes from the legendary designer.

It was interesting to see the backs on some of the mainline clothing about 4:40 minutes into the clip. Just blouson or pleated backs falling away from the body and something not seen in runway photos.

As mentioned here last week, Louis Vuitton’s first film ads will air beginning next week in select cable and satellite channels and high end theatres in 15 countries. You don’t have to wait til then to view it as the film clip is available to watch right now. The 94-minute ad takes a very subtle approach with quick flashes of the classic monogram (if you blink, you’ll miss it) and the mention of Louis Vuitton only at the very end. No hardselling here. The ad is positioned to reinforce Louis Vuitton’s travel heritage and and is aimed at potential new customers. View the clip below.
Imagine yourself walking through a forest and getting dressed from head to toe in Prada’s Spring 2008 line. That’s what happens to a woodlands nymph in Prada’s Trembled Blossoms video which debuted on Tuesday evening at the Prada flagship store in New York City. The video is beautiful, if a bit odd with a trippy soundtrack. I actually expected to see the same exact wallpaper illustrations by James Jean in the video. Or perhaps, a Sasha look-alike instead of an alien looking nymph.
