If you can’t make it to the DVF sample sale in New York City or aren’t willing to brave the crowds, then you might want to hit up Hautelook.com instead. Sure the choices aren’t as extensive (there are 63 items on sale, 5 already sold out), but the convenience can’t be beat. The prices seem to be better too even though the NYC sample sale discounts are advertised at up to 75% off and Hautelook’s are up to 60% off. Wrap dresses are $130-148 (reportedly $175 at the NYC sample sale), regular dresses are $114-$150, pants are $106-$100, blazers are $146, jackets are $170, pants are $110, tops are $76-79. Sure, the prices are not chump change in this faltering economy but Diane Von Furstenberg does know how to make incredibly flattering clothing so they are well worth it, especially now that they’re discounted.
Yes, after being peeved yesterday about not getting my dutch wrap dress, I’m singing a different tune today. That’s because I spotted a dutch wrap dress in a different and much better print, which I tried on at Barneys New York last week but which was only 40% off. I thought it fit really well on me so when I spotted it on Hautelook, I didn’t hesitate to get it.
The DVF sale on Hautelook ends later tonight. You might also want to check out the Rich & Skinny sale today, Love Yaya tomorrow, Velvet on Friday and Splendid on Monday. If you aren’t a member yet, let me know if you need an invitation to join.
