Target has partnered with makeup artists Jemma Kidd, Napoleon Perdis and Petra Strand for affordable versions of their existing upscale makeup lines and today marks the debut of these new beauty lines.

The JK Jemma Kidd line is inspired by the catwalk and is heavily pigmented to produce bold statement colors. In an interview with Plum Sykes in Vogue’s September 2008 issue, the former catwalk model says that the line is “for makeup junkies. It’s for girls who want to experiment with color. I am bringing high fashion colors into makeup but making it very wearable.” Prices start at $14 for I-conic Eye Pencil Liner with a built-in sharpener and go to $36 for a Smoky Eye Palette.

Pixi by Petra Strand focuses on “skin-loving” ingredients that “creates a flawless, photo-perfect finish that leaves women looking like themselves, only better,” according to Target. The line retails for $12-$39.

NP Set is packaged in slick white containers and each category (face, lip, eye) has its own color code. The 85-piece line comes in classic colors and retails for $12-$30.

All three makeup lines rival department store prices and Target will include testers so that they can be tried on before purchasing. It will be interesting to see how these lines perform given the odd mix of high price points (compared to drugstore makeup brands) and mass market presentation. Target will have to keep the makeup shelves fully stocked with a whole range of shades to make it work.

I would drop by the store to check them out but if you’re ordering online, you get free shipping on orders over $50.
