Kidrobot’s first handbag line is being launched next week nationwide. Initially launching in the Kidrobot stores in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York, the unisex collection will then be available at Bloomingdales and Nordstom. The bags are being produced by Schifter + Partners, the same company that manufactures the LAMB, Harajuku Lovers, and Jill Stuart handbags. The line includes handbags, tote bags, backpacks, travel bags and wallets in cotton canvas (the Canvas Collection) or printed microfiber with leather trim (the Photo Pop Collection).

Founded in 2002, Kidrobot was the first company to introduce designer toys in the United States, collaborating with top international graffiti artists, industrial designers, musicians and graphic artists. Kidrobot invented a new concept of collectible, limited-edition designer toys. In 2003, the fashion world reached out to Kidrobot. In partnership with Visionaire magazine, Kidrobot created the seminal series of designer toys in a collaboration with Europe’s top luxury brands including Prada, Hermès, Gucci and Chanel. Subsequent collaborations with Marc Jacobs and Paul Smith have broadened its position in the fashion world. In 2005, Kidrobot collaborated with Nike to create a limited edition Air Max sneaker exclusively for Barneys New York which sold out the day it was launched.
