theOutnet is live!

theOutnet is live today. Contrary to reports that the designer outlet site will launch this weekend, the much anticipated theOutnet.com launched today. I’ll be in meetings all day so I won’t be able to browse the site but go ahead and check it out and come back to report about it!

Update: The discounts run from 30%-80%. It looks like theOutnet will be rivaling online shopping sites like Gilt Groupe with events called Flash Sales. Each month theOutnet hosts time-limited Pop-Up Sales, Giveaways and Going, Going, Gone Sales that will give you that ‘get it before it goes’ buzz. Pop-Up Sales feature a group of items edited by brand or by theme and are only on sale for a limited time (usually up to 72 hours). Going, Going, Gone Sales allow you to choose the price you want to pay for a particular product and will only run for a very short amount of time. Watch the price drop as the clock ticks but hurry or you may lose it. Spring dresses, up to 80% off, will be featured beginning April 24 at 12:00 EDT. A Going, Going, Gone Sale will feature a Chloé Saskia tote bag on May 1 at 12:00 EDT.
